Byrnes is the second-youngest member of St Kildas squad at 19 years of age, while Ryder tops the Saints list of experienced campaigners with 246 senior games across 14 seasons.
Jonathon Marsh (omitted) and Ben Long (suspension) will make way for the pair, with Brett Ratten adamant on a much-improved performance following last weekends match against Fremantle.
