WA Police investigate death of elderly woman at Regis aged care home in Nedlands

Police are investigating the death of an elderly woman at a controversy-plagued aged care home in Perth’s western suburbs.
The death of the 89-year-old on Tuesday follows a police investigation earlier this year into allegations of abuse of residents and two other deaths.
In January, the Regis aged care facility in Nedlands was investigated over multiple allegations of physical abuse of residents by staff.
During that investigation two residents died, and the Major Crime squad was brought in.
While that investigation found no evidence of criminality, the national aged care regulator imposed sanctions over what it described as “immediate and severe” risks to residents.
