Boy drowns at popular Gold Coast hinterland swimming hole
Rescue crews have found the body of a teenage boy who went missing at a popular Gold Coast hinterland swimming hole on Thursday afternoon.
An hours-long search was launched when the 13-year-old failed to resurface after entering the water at Cedar Creek Falls, near Tamborine Mountain, about 5pm.
Police said the boy was swimming at the falls with friends under adult supervision when he got into trouble and called out for help.
His body was found by police divers and swift water rescue teams just after 10pm.
