Man allegedly strangled woman before she hid in Queensland cane field during attack

A young woman has been strangled before she hid from her knife-wielding attacker in a cane field in an alleged domestic violence incident in far north Queensland.
The 20-year-old woman was also allegedly assaulted by the 27-year-old man at a property south of Edmonton in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
“Particularly concerning to us is the (alleged) offence of strangulation,” acting Detective Inspector Kevin Goan said on Wednesday.
