Ex Moreton Bay mayor accused of ‘manipulating the council’
Former Moreton Bay Regional Council mayor Allan Sutherland has been accused of “manipulating the council” into conducting upgrades to a road on which he owned a block of land.
Mr Sutherland was charged with two counts of misconduct in relation to public office in December 2019. His case returned to the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday, but he did not attend.

Crown Prosecutor Sarah Farnden told the court the alleged offences occurred in 2017 and 2018. The exact period was December 2017 to December 2018, according to court documents.
