PNG man dies of COVID-19 in Australian hospital

A man from Papua New Guinea has died in a Queensland hospital from complications due to COVID-19.
Queensland Health confirmed the 77-year-old man died on Tuesday afternoon in Redcliffe Hospital, where he had been cared for since he was airlifted from Papua New Guinea on March 28.

Queensland Health offered its condolences to the man’s family in a statement.
“PNG is one of Queensland’s closest neighbours, and when we can offer support to our neighbours, we can, and we will,” the statement said.
