Fireworks thrown, charges laid after police confront 1000 people

Notices to appear were also issued to other people for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and one count each of evading, wilful damage, drink-driving, disqualified driving and two counts of drug driving.
Police seized three vehicles, which would be impounded for 90 days.
Police investigations were ongoing, with 93 traffic infringement notices issued for offences including defective vehicles, speeding and obstructing traffic.
