No new cases, with date for NZ travel bubble to be announced

No new local COVID-19 cases have been detected in Queensland for a third consecutive day, as the nation waits to hear when two-way quarantine-free travel with New Zealand will begin.

Two local cases have been confirmed in the state since greater Brisbane emerged from its snap three-day lockdown on Thursday.

The cases, confirmed on Friday and Saturday, were close contacts of existing cases.

There were 5348 tests conducted on Monday and 70 cases remain active. No returned travellers have tested positive in the past 24-hour reporting period.
