Drunk driver who killed boy on Christmas Day 2016 applies for licence

He hit Josiah on the footpath, careered into a front yard where he hit a trampoline and water tank, before smashing into the home on the property.
Murray had a history of speeding fines in 2010-2016 and his licence had already been suspended. He also had a criminal history including urinating in a public place and drug offences.
In his application to the Beenleigh District Court on January 25 for his licence disqualification to be lifted, Murray said he worked as a car detailer and his employer gave him a lift to work.
Murray submitted to the court he had complied with all parole conditions, including not drinking alcohol. He was also on a wait list for the Substance Abuse Maintenance Intervention program.
