Car fire on Kwinana Freeway adds to Easter traffic chaos at South Perth exit

A burning car on the Kwinana Freeway has added to traffic chaos as Perth residents head home from spending the long weekend down south.

- The freeway has reopened but traffic has been reduced to one lane
- Drivers are being urged to exit at Canning Highway
Emergency Services WA has issued a smoke alert warning for people travelling north on the Kwinana Freeway at South Terrace.
The incident brought much of the traffic to a standstill with the road closed for a period and then only one lane opening.
Roads in the south-west were packed as holidaymakers flocked to the region late last week.
