Weather bureau watches trough to see where most rain will fall

A trough over Fraser Island could bring flash flooding, heavy rainfall and hazardous surf conditions to the Sunshine Coast on Monday, the weather bureau predicts.
The Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Matt Marshall said there was a severe weather warning for the Sunshine Coast, Fraser Island and Hervey Bay, with Brisbane missing the full impact.

“The trough sitting offshore near Fraser Island is active at the moment but we’re monitoring it because the weather will depend on its fine movements,” he said.
“If it moves a little further towards the coast that’s where we’ll see most rain going but if it moves offshore, the rain will fall over…
