It was an unfortunate end to a tight contest yesterday, when the deciding match of the trans-Tasman women’s T20I series had to be abandoned at Eden Park due to rain.

Australia had won the first game by six wickets with two overs to spare, before New Zealand levelled the series with an unlikely final ball victory in the second.

This generated serious talk that the White Ferns might become the first team to beat the world number ones in a T20I series…
