Queensland ‘strained’ with up to nine infected travellers daily, says Premier

Every day Queensland was taking in up to nine overseas travellers infected with coronavirus, straining hotel quarantine and the state’s hospitals, the Premier said.
On Friday, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said she believed Queensland was taking in the highest number of COVID-positive travellers, and would continue to ask Prime Minister Scott Morrison to reduce travel limits.
Ms Palaszczuk said at national cabinet next week she would raise the high number of positive cases that were coming in from overseas and the demand it was putting on Queensland.
Two clusters across the greater Brisbane region were sparked by what Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young described as a “super spreader”, a man who flew in from Europe.
