Hospitals in New South Wales will be called in to help with the rollout of the coronavirus vaccine after an extraordinary war of words.

Four million Australians were supposed to have received their first dose of the vaccine by the end of March.

However, only around 700,000 jabs were actually administered.

That led to a stoush between the state and federal governments, each blaming each other for missing the target.
