The ASX improved after a jittery morning, rising 0.6% to finish the Easter-shortened week at a six-week high of 6828.7.

Australian shares steadied after a rickety start on Thursday with the major miners and tech stocks helping the market into the Easter break at a six-week high.
The benchmark ASX 200 registered back-to-back gains with a 0.6 per cent rise to 6828.7, its best close since February 25. Thursdays advance also meant the local bourse ended the holiday-shortened week with a narrow 0.1 per cent gain.
