Sorrento’s Hotel Continental to become an InterContinental – The Australian Financial Review
Global hotel giant IHG has signed a management agreement to operate Sorrento’s famous hotel once a redevelopment is completed in November.

In addition, the hotel will feature a sprawling wellness centre incorporating a luxury bathhouse, an outdoor pool, gym and three function and event spaces, including the Contis fully restored original grand ballroom.
The brainchild of actor, philanthropist and businessman, George Coppin, the Hotel Continental first opened in 1875 as Melburnians began flocking to the peninsula for holiday breaks.
