Patron sitting near Byron bachelorette group tests positive, concerns mount for Bluesfest – Sydney Morning Herald
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said holidaymakers planning to visit the Northern Rivers for the Easter long weekend should “reconsider their plans”.
A person who attended the same venue as the bachelorette party that prompted health alerts in Byron Shire has tested positive to coronavirus, bringing an end to 14 days without community transmission of the virus in NSW.
The case, a man in his 20s who will be counted in Thursdays numbers, is the first in the area after two Queenslanders attended a bachelorette party in Byron Bay while unknowingly infectious with the virus on the weekend.
