A Coles representative has confirmed the easy-to-miss fact, which comes as a surprise to many fans of the ready-to-eat dinner favourite.

A Coles customer has pointed out an easy-to-miss on the labels of the supermarkets famous Hot Roast Chickens.
Sharing on Facebook, Melbourne shopper Lilian said she became curious when she took a closer look at best before date on the popular chicken buy.
Noting that the date listed on the barbecued chook was just a day after she purchased it, Lilian queried whether this was was correct.
Is it a normal thing for the best before date to be a day after its cooked and bought? she asked.
