Qualcomm has increasingly come under pressure over the past year from companies like MediaTek encroaching into its higher performance territory. Not wanting to lose its dominant position as the leading supplier of Arm-based SoCs to mobile device OEMs, the company has clearly responded with its new Snapdragon 780G chipset. Think of this as a successor to last years Snapdragon 765G which found its way into devices like the Google Pixel 5, LG Velvet and Motorola Edge.
