Swimmer missing after ‘being caught in rip’ at Coolum beach

An air and sea search is underway for a young man who went missing after getting caught in a rip on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
The 21-year-old man was last seen by friends swimming at Coolum Beach around 4pm on Saturday.
It’s believed he became stuck in a rip near Stumer’s Creek, which is an upatrolled area.
He has not been seen since.
Police were called to the scene shortly after and commenced a search.
