‘A significant issue’: AFLPA anger over vaccination call – The Age
Indigenous players within the AFL have questioned why the Queensland government has made receiving a pneumococcal vaccination a condition of entry for them.
The AFL Players’ Association are furious they weren’t made aware that Indigenous players were expected to have pneumococcal vaccinations before entering the AFL hubs in Queensland and are working with players to determine their options.
The AFLPA have been in crisis talks with the AFL since becoming aware of the issue within the past 48 hours after several leading Indigenous players questioned why they had been directed to be immunised.
