The 24-year-old made a statement during and after the big win against the Highlanders as Hurricanes reap the rewards from keeping him at fullback.

Jordie Barrett said, Everyone knows I want to be a No 15, and his Hurricanes coach Jason Holland declared it was a no brainer to keep him at fullback, despite losing 1000 No 10s to either injury or worse the Blues in recent years.
And with 30 points against the Highlanders on Friday night, Barrett took the rationale for playing him anywhere but fullback and booted it about 70 metres into touch.
