The purpose of this consultation is for WHO to propose an integrated approach to monitoring and assessing SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern and outline a decision-making process to inform policy recommendations, with a specific focus on the impact of COVID-19 vaccines. This consultation will be the first in a series of meetings to refine and implement a global risk monitoring and assessment framework for these variants.
