As the Bulldogs splashed nearly $2m on Nick Cotric – to the chagrin of Canberra coach Ricky Stuart – a contrite Jayden Okunbor was welcomed back into the fold at Belmore.
As Bulldogs boss Andrew Hill remained quiet about the signing news, Canberra coach Ricky Stuart confirmed Cotric was Belmore bound.
“And we tried everything to keep him,” Stuart said. “Nick has played some centre before, but he’s a winger in my team. Nick is a great young guy, but I don’t think all the advice and information he’s receiving is in his best interests.”
