Divers to plunge under the Pacific Motorway to clean and check for issues

Specialist divers will plunge into the water beneath the bridge sections of the Pacific Motorway to scrape away barnacles and heavy vegetation, and check for any issues – a key procedure for keeping these structures safe for traffic needs.
Transport and Main Roads has gone out to tender for divers and equipment to clean marine growth from 18 sections of the Pacific Motorway – from the high-water level to the river floor – and visually inspect pile surfaces.
