Queensland man accused of bashing, raping girl in bushland attack on Macleay Island

A girl has been bashed unconscious and raped in bushland allegedly by a man who followed her from a Queensland bus stop.

The 20-year-old man allegedly stalked the teenager after she exited a bus near Hamilton Parade on Macleay Island, off south-east Queensland, on Wednesday afternoon.

As she approached an intersection, the stranger allegedly attacked and rendered her unconscious.

He is accused of dragging her into nearby bushland and sexually assaulting her.
