The mission to save nearly 200 lost cows swept away in floodwaters on the NSW mid-north coast
It was a surprisingly quick backyard bovine rescue.
Mondrook resident Peter Bowie and some helping hands pulled up with a horse float and went about setting up fencing to guide his cow from the back of a Taree home.
The cow is one of nearly 200 that were swept away in surging flood waters at the weekend, with many popping up in far flung places on the mid-north coast.
“The humour of having it there is probably waning with the loss of their garden,” Mr Bowie said.
