Woman in police custody after eight-hour Adani protest

A woman is in police custody following a protest at Adani’s Carmichael Rail Corridor in central Queensland that has been going for more than eight hours.

Three women from the Frontline Action on Coal group disrupted work in Belyando, two hours north of Clermont in the Isaac Region, by locking themselves to machinery and blocking traffic about 6am on Wednesday.

The group released a statement saying Zianna Fuad locked herself to a concrete batching plane, while Teeka Latif and Susan Doyle immobilised the company’s flash-butt welder.
