Defence Minister Linda Reynolds withdraws from international event as future remains uncertain

Defence Minister Linda Reynolds has withdrawn from a high-profile international conference next month as uncertainty mounts over her future in the crucial frontbench role.

Senator Reynolds went on leave in February after being admitted to hospital to receive treatment for a pre-existing heart condition. 

She made the announcement after coming under relentless pressure over her handling of a rape allegation by her former staffer Brittany Higgins.
