Low-lying Gold Coast residents face evacuation as flood threat looms
Residents in a low-lying area of the Gold Coast have been warned their homes could soon flood.
An emergency alert has been issued for residents north of Pimpama on Tuesday afternoon.
“Continued heavy rainfall may cause moderate flooding in the coming hours for low lying properties near rivers and creeks in Gold Coast suburbs north of Pimpama,” Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said in a statement.
