Australian medical team touches down in Port Moresby with emergency vaccines

A forward team of AUSMAT health specialists with an emergency vaccine supply has touched down in Papua New Guinea’s capital Port Moresby to help local health authorities deal with the spiralling coronavirus crisis there.
Key points:
- The team includes an emergency physician and clinical toxicologist, an emergency nurse, and an environmental scientist and public health specialist
- They will work with local health authorities on infection control, triage and emergency management and public health measures
- The flight also delivered three mobile storage units for the vaccines and five community tents
