SA Labor has announced a major power play, and it’s all about using hydrogen for clean energy

The world is hungry for clean energy — and while hydrogen has sometimes had a mixed reputation, it’s increasingly being spruiked as a fuel of the future — and it’s part of SA Labor’s first state election commitment.
The Federal Government is committed to a national hydrogen strategy, and is exploring ways to exploit so-called “clean hydrogen” as a source of energy, exports and jobs.
The SA Government is also a strong supporter of hydrogen, and last year announced the installation of what it said was Australia’s largest hydrogen electrolyser at Tonsley.
Other states and the private sector are showing interest — the NSW Government recently committed $500,000 to a project to fuel heavy vehicles, while Fortescue Metals’…
