The ‘horrible’ new rule forcing teams to ‘play with 17 men’
The AFLs controversial new man on the mark rule went off largely without a hitch in the opening weekend of the 2021 season.
However, there is one horrible grey area that needs to be urgently changed according to a number of AFL greats.
A number of examples over the weekend showed how the player shooting for goal had an advantage over the man standing the mark, with the kicking able to swing out before the AFL umpires react and call play on.
