Rainfall totals to rise as parts of Queensland battered by more than 200mm

Severe weather causing increased rainfall totals of up to 150 millimetres is forecast for Tuesday, as regions across south-east Queensland were battered by more than 200 millimetres since Monday.

Six-hourly rainfall totals of up to 150 millimetres are forecast, and heavier falls are possible locally with thunderstorms across the south-east and Darling Downs regions today.

Parts of the Gold Coast were hit with more than 200 millimetres, with Mount Tamborine recording 220 millimetres since 9am Monday.

North Stradbroke reported 202 millimetres while Upper Springbrook recorded 200 millimetres in the same period.
