Former Sydney Swans player Elijah Taylor banned from AFL in 2021 season

Former Sydney Swans forward Elijah Taylor’s slim hopes of earning an AFL lifeline via the mid-season draft this year are over, while he has also been prohibited from playing in the WAFL until June.
Key points:
- Taylor pleaded guilty to assaulting his former girlfriend last year
- The AFL banned Taylor from joining a league list for the remainder of the 2021 season
- He has also been banned from all state and community football competitions until June 1
Taylor was fined $5,000 by the Perth Magistrates Court for bashing his former girlfriend in a Perth hotel last September.
The Swans parted ways with Taylor after he pleaded guilty to assault charges, but he had been hoping to restart his stalled career with WAFL side Perth.
