Dr Young said the main reason Brisbane was spared from another shutdown was contact tracers could quickly find 650 people who might have been exposed to the doctor and travellers, and got them tested.
“It is really important that Queenslanders across the state check into those hospitality venues and those other venues because we can do what we have done this time,” she said.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said 17 new cases had been detected in Queensland quarantine hotels in two days, 12 of those from Papua New Guinea.
