Sydney’s highest earning postcodes revealed – The Australian Financial Review
A record 1.3 million people are negatively gearing investment properties, while Australia’s top income earners are medical specialists, engineers and financiers.
The median taxable income was highest for anaesthetists at $366,387, followed by surgeons earning $302,583, internal medicine specialists paid $253,782, psychiatrists on $201,177, mining engineers receiving $151,942, financial dealers collecting $147,034 and judges and lawyers $102,192.
Across the nation, the median taxable income was $45,882, with men earning $54,252 and women receiving $39,058.
The taxable incomes are adjusted for tax deductions.
