Sunshine Coast boy’s remarkable transformation after being born with ‘severe’ cleft lip

After Charlotte Halliday gave birth to her son Charlie in April 2017, there was shock all over the birthing suite.

“I thought that the worst had happened, because the room went dead silent,” Halliday told 7NEWS.com.au.

Throughout her pregnancy, Halliday had 16 ultrasounds.

None of them picked up that Charlie would be born with a condition which impacts just one in 800 babies born in Australia.

Charlie, now almost four, was born with a “severe” bilateral cleft lip and palate.
