During late March, the areas with the most COVID-19 infections were largely affluent municipalities in Melbournes south and east (which show up as green or purple bars on the interactive), such as Stonnington, Mornington Peninsula, Boroondara, Glen Eira and Port Phillip.
At this stage of the outbreak, two-thirds of Victorias cases were being detected in returned travellers from overseas who were in mandatory hotel quarantine.
