Richmond coach Damien Hardwick believes the defence first mantra will continue into 2021 despite a number of rule changes for the upcoming season.
With the AFL looking to increase scoring and attacking game plan, two main rules have been included for the future.
Rotations have been slashed from 90 to 75, while players no longer can move sideways when guarding a mark, with any movement causing a 50m penalty.
