A South Queensland school is declaring a war on waste, building a new playground from recycled scrap metal and wood during their lunch break.
Ballandean State School‘s principal says the program is allowing
students to embrace nature-based play and uses the environment as an extension of the classroom.“We’ve reduced our landfill by about two thirds so it’s just another example of real-life learning.” – Principal, Susan Evans.
