The home-building industry will get a second – and final – HomeBuilder bump this month, when new detached house sales figures are likely to show a rush of purchases….

For this reason, we expect a surge in sales in March. Due to the lower grant offering, this surge will not be as large as the December 2020 surge.
The figures published on Friday by the industry body for volume home builders showed new home sales nearly doubled to 13,527 in December ahead of the first deadline to receive the full $25,000. They slumped back to 4143 in January and picked up to 5091 last month.
Victoria (up 48 per cent month-on-month) and WA (41 per cent) led Februarys gains.
