Airborne opening lap crash deemed a “racing incident”

Thomas Randle will not be penalised after a spectacular clash with Nathan Herne in the VHT S5000 Australian Drivers Championship Main Event race at Phillip Island.
Starting from pole position, Randle moved to drivers right as the field got up to speed heading towards Turn 1 after initially leaving a gap to the edge of the circuit.
This blocked Nathan Hernes path as the Team Valvoline GRM driver carried a run of speed but had nowhere to go, spearing into the back of Randles Castrol…
