WA election: Antony Green calls the WA state election 2021 for Labor

The ABC projects Labor will win Western Australia’s state election, and Mark McGowan will be returned as Premier.

Counting is still at a very early stage, but early figures are showing swings towards Labor across the state.

The ABC’s Chief Election Analyst Antony Green says given the opposition would require a swing in its favour to win, it will not be able to win enough seats to form government.

It is too early to project a result in the state’s Upper House.
