Explosive report claims Tasmania eyes AFL club relocation — with one team ‘in focus’ – Fox Sports

Tasmania believes its best chance of getting an AFL team is relocating an existing club, rather than becoming the leagues 19th side, according to veteran journalist Caroline Wilson.
While a state task force made a business case for their own brand-new club last year, the realities of COVID and its impact on AFL finances have changed the view of higher-ups.
Wilson wrote the Tasmanian bid now accepts it is more likely a team would be moved to the Apple Isle than a new license be granted.
