Mammoth cost of mothballed hotel quarantine revealed – The Age
While Victorians stranded overseas wait to come home, quarantine staff are being paid to turn up to work in empty hotels.
After two failed attempts and Victorians paying millions for a program on life support, its clear the Andrews government simply cant get hotel quarantine right, he said.
Maybe its time for Daniel Andrews to pay NSW to run hotel quarantine for us and safely bring Victorians home.
Sources with knowledge of the program told The Age that the quarantine budget is not sufficient to cover its costs and CQV would seek greater funding in the May Budget.
