Essendon coach Ben Rutten says star midfielder Zach Merrett is as committed and engaged as Ive ever seen him as the 25-year-old enters the final year of his current deal.
Merrett was one of several Bombers players considering their future at the club last year, with former teammates Adam Saad, Joe Daniher and Orazio Fantasia now all at other clubs.
