Positive COVID wastewater tests as active cases rise

Wastewater testing has detected COVID-19 viral fragments in multiple locations across Queensland from Brisbane to Cairns in the latest round of results.
The figures released by Queensland Health show positive detections at the Cairns North, Marlin Coast (Cairns), Fairfield (Brisbane South) and Mackay South wastewater treatment plants.

It follows positive detections on Friday, March 5, at Luggage Point, which services parts of Brisbane’s Metro North district, Kawana on the Sunshine Coast, and another at the Marlin Coast (Cairns) plant.
