Woman dead after vehicle falls 10m off bridge
A woman has died after she was freed from her vehicle that fell about 10 metres off a bridge and ended up on its roof in the Fraser Coast region.
Emergency services were called to a vehicle and truck crash on Eaton Street and Maryborough Biggenden Road at Brooweena just after 2.20pm on Wednesday.
Police said initial investigations indicate a sedan and a logging truck collided around 2pm, resulting in the sedan falling off the Brooweena Bridge.
The driver and sole occupant of the car, a 40-year-old Biggenden woman, was airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a critical condition. However, she died early Thursday morning as a result of her injuries.
