Cricket world mourns the death of former England fast bowler Joey Benjamin – Wide World of Sports
‘He seemed so incredibly fit’
Former England fast bowler Joey Benjamin has died suddenly at the age of 60, after suffering a heart attack.
Born in St Kitts, he played county cricket for both Warwickshire and Surrey, playing his only Test for England against South Africa in 1994.
He took 4-42 in the first innings, including the wickets of Hansie Cronje and Kepler Wessels, as England won by eight wickets.
That performance was enough to earn Benjamin a spot in the England squad for the 1994-95 Ashes tour of Australia.
